A broad-ranging if brooding nose features notes of the sauvage, plum, violet, red and dark berry fruit and plenty of earth and humus characters. There is both excellent richness and volume to the powerful and concentrated medium weight plus flavors that possess a strikingly textured mouth feel, all wrapped in a moderately austere and serious but wonderfully persistent finish. This impeccably well-balanced effort should not only age effortlessly but will need it as well.
