Chambolle Musigny Les Veroilles, Domaine Bruno Clair 2012

Tasting Notes

Quite deeply colored. Initially this is quite closed and it required the better part of 30 minutes before the nose of mostly dark pinot fruit, spice and soft earth aromas became more expressive. Like the nose the rich yet precise middlew eight flavors are initially quite reticent and even a bit ungenerous though as the wine sat in the glass the supporting structure becomes more pliant and particularly so on the lightly mineral-inflected finale. This is really quite a nice Chambolle villages with good aging potential as it's clear that the '12 Véroilles is still very much on the way up.

The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Les Veroilles has a refined, gracefully pure redcurrant and raspberry-scented bouquet. The palate is sweet and candied with succulent, fleshy tannins and a generous sweet finish that is Vosne-like in style. This is very fine and the gentle crescendo in the mouth bodes well for the future.
