Chambolle Musigny Amoureuses, Domaine Robert Groffier 2015

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses includes 50% whole bunch fruit and 50% new oak. In a funny way, the Les Amoureuses is more like the Bonnes-Mares in style - certainly more expressive and flamboyant at the moment with abundant, vivacious black cherry and boysenberry fruit laced with violet petals. The palate is sorbet-fresh on the entry with veins of orange rind interlaced with the black cherry fruit, quite spicy and certainly very saline towards the finish that delivers superb structure. I like the subtle sour cherry note just on the aftertaste that urges you back for another sip.
