The 1948 Rivesaltes has a wonderful bouquet dominated by quince and marmalade, the juniper berries noticed before, all beautifully defined, almost glistening in the glass. The palate is crisp and balanced: mandarin, marmalade and barley sugar to the fore, with a persistent finish that feels a tad sweeter than other vintages. What a lovely Rivesaltes! This comes highly recommended. Tasted with Philippe Gayral. 2018 - 2035.
Pale yellow gold. Just slightly sticky. Lots of sweetness and a hint of melted Spangle. Too sweet for me.
