Corton Charlemagne, Domaine Michel Mallard 2016

Tasting Notes

The 2016 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which is located in Le Charlemagne, has a very well defined, really sophisticated bouquet with delicate yellow fruit, citrus peel, wet limestone scents that are very nuanced. The palate is very well balanced with a killer line of acidity, very tensile with superb tension on the finish. Simply one of the best Corton-Charlemagnes that I have tasted, and it comes highly recommended.

**Note: from Le Charlemagne**
A pungent nose consists of notes of green apples, citrus zest, white flowers, essence of pear and a hint of matchstick. The dense and tautly muscular flavors pick up the citrus character reflected by the nose and it continues onto the firm, dry and youthfully austere finish.
