A markedly ripe but notably fresh and expressive nose of liqueur-like dark berries and earth nuances is trimmed in soft wood toast. There is outstanding richness, volume and mid-palate concentration supporting the velvet-textured broad-shouldered flavors that possess superb complexity on the wonderfully long finale. Like the Chambolle villages cuvée, this isn't refined but it delivers fine quality.
