Puligny Clos de la Garenne, Duc de Magenta, Louis Jadot 2018
Little fresh lemon colour with a very pretty and stylish nose. Old chardonnay vines, over 80 year old, always gives this finesse. Altogether a very classy wine, with a huge weight of fruit behind. This is very impressive. Tasted: November 2019

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet of honeysuckle, Golden Delicious apples and light brioche notes that come through with aeration. The palate is fresh and spicy on the entry, offering orange peel and tangerine, a twist of sour lemon on the entry, good weight and a slightly waxy-textured finish that lingers in the mouth. Good potential here. 2022 - 2038

Offering up aromas of pear, pastry cream and white flowers, the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Garenne (Duc de Magenta) is medium to full-bodied, ample and expressive, with a lively but open-knit profile, concluding with a chalky finish.

Preserved lemons and candied citrus peel with a good hit of sweet spice on the nose. Broad and oily on the palate, this is luxurious on entry but cut by just enough acidity to keep fresh. Open-knit and luscious through to the finish, this will be superb to drink from release.
