Meursault Narvaux, Parcellaires de Saulx 2018

Tasting Notes

Parcellaires de Saulx is a new property formed as recently as 2017 by American owners. The wine spends 18 months in oak before bottling. Pale lemon in colour with a flinty yet creamy nose of lemon curd. Leesy richness comes through on the palate, which is creamy and broad. There are hints of struck flint too, adding some minerality. The acids are tangy and fresh, cutting through some smokiness and lifting the ripe citrus and stone fruits at the core. Generous and ripe on the finish, this is already drinking well and should continue to do so over the following 5+ years.

Farr Vintners, Farr Tasting, August 2020

Classic Meursault on the nose with hints of orange, some floral notes and oak in evidence. The palate has good purity of flavour and enough acidity but the palate is a little heavier than expected. A weighty Meursault Narvaux – this lacks a little of the ‘nervosité’ and elegance anticipated. Still a nice example but needs a bit more refinement.
