This is the ultimate right bank super-cuvée that you either love or hate. It would be fair to say that there is nobody at Farr Vintners who loves it, but some critics do remain keen. Always super-concentrated with gobs of dense black fruit. Now produced in the owner's ornate Lalique bottles. The 7.45 hectares are planted with 100% Merlot, and the wine is aged in 100% new oak.
A round, juicy wine with blackberry, dried-tobacco, chocolate and stone character. Full and layered with chewy tannins and a finish with attractive fruit and wood complexity. Needs plenty of time to soften and come together. Try after 2025.
This a high-toned, extremely polished barrel sample with blue fruit, blackberries and ultra-polished tannins that give a creamy texture to the wine. Like fine velvet in the texture.
