Tasting Notes

A dense, layered red with chocolate, hazelnut and redcurrants. It’s medium-to full-bodied. Chewy tannins at the end.

James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, June 2020

The 2019 D'Angludet has turned out nicely in bottle, delivering aromas of earthy red and black fruits, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless palate with a sweet core of fruit, ripe tannins and lively acids. This elegantly fleshy wine is reminiscent of a modern-day version of the 1989. Drink 2023-2045.

William Kelley, RobertParker.com (April 2022), April 2022

Sweet damson and red cherry fruit, notable creaminess on the attack, with light grilled cedar notes. Not the most intense Margaux in 2019, but easily one of the more supple, inviting and easy to love. Clear Margaux signature with delicate violet flowers on the aromatics. Definitely one to look out for from the Sichel family. Drinking Window 2023 - 2036

Jane Anson, Decanter.com, June 2020

45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot.
Mid concentration of crimson. High-toned nose of dried herbs. Sweet start and very flattering in a floral idiom. Certainly Margaux-esque but lacks just a little structure and rigour. 13.5%

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, December 2021

Made from a blend of 43% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Petit Verdot, the ageing of this wine has changed in recent years and is now half in amphoras, with 30% new oak and 20% used oak, for 12 months. The result is a deep ruby purple colour and evocative and seductive aromatics of blue fruit and bramble. The palate is smooth and silky, with soft and integrated tannins allowing the fruit to shine. There is freshness of acidity on the back end that lifts the palate to add some florality.
