Produced every year since their first (2012) vintage. Blend of 60% Pinot, 35% Trousseau and 5% Poulsard. Vineyards are all located in the village of Montigny-lès-Arsures. The soil is grey and black marls, partially covered with fallen rocks (scree). The vineyards broadly face west, at an elevation of 300–400 m. 50% aged in barrel, 50% in foudre.
Light to mid crimson, a little darker than the Pinot Noir and even more tangy, if more severe in its tight freshness. Intensely bright and pure. It is a little more herbal and a little sweeter fruited, but the fruit is lifted and pure. Silky, a little spicy and with impressive intensity for a wine that at first seemed so delicate. Endless and fresh, utterly mouth-watering. (JH)
The 2018 Arbois Trois Cépages is a red blend of the three varieties from Jura, with 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau and 5% Poulsard. Despite the low alcohol (12.5%), it has a ripe nose, with notes of cherries and orange peel, and a light palate.
