Tasting Notes

This also flirts with the exotic but remains pure and fresh and I like the fine layering of the airy aromas of acacia blossom, lavender, tangerine peel and essence of spiced pear. There is excellent concentration to the moderately powerful and sappy medium-bodied flavors that possess even better depth on the lingering finish where about the only nit is a touch of warmth. This stylish effort is quite classy and should age effortlessly.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (79), June 2020

Deep and concentrated, the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes unfurls in the glass with notes of pear, white currants, buttered toast and blanched almonds. Medium to full-bodied, textural and reserved, concluding with a long, mineral finish, this is the most introverted of Sauzet's premiers crus and will need some time.
