A slightly more restrained and even spicier nose reflects notes of hoisin and star anise along with violet, lavender and red and dark currant aromas. The middle weight flavors are not quite as rich though they are both finer and more finely detailed, all wrapped in a balanced, firm and lingering finale. This too is lovely and the natural class of Vosne is very much on display. One to strongly consider as this is a very fine villages.
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière is an exquisite follow-up to the debut 2018 rendition, bursting from the glass with aromas of smoky berry fruit, rose petals, spices, dark chocolate and espresso roast. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's bright and lively, with beautifully refined tannins and a long, perfumed finish. Seamless and complete, this is a strikingly suave wine from the Mugneret family.
