From Echezeaux du Dessus, the heartland. There is a little more evolution than expected at first with an amber red edging to the colour. The bouquet is very open, a little loose at first but with plenty of agreeable accessible fruit. On the palate relatively rich in quite a plummy style, with the classic 2009 tannins behind. But… give it time, when retasted towards the end of the evening, this wine had freshened up considerably, become fresher and notably tauter, and developed a fine and intricate perfume.
