This is darker and riper than the 2019 vintage - denser and more intense. One can almost sense that the grapes were small and ripe. There is a structure here and the fruit character is very much a black one; bags of cassis with the merest hint of kirsch. As ever, it represents remarkable value for money and this is a quite distinct Gevrey that fans of a bigger, more fruit-driven style will adore. Almost ready to go now, it will soften out with a year or two in bottle.
