This is one of the relatively few wines in the line-up that exhibited much reduction but here it's enough to render the slightly woody nose unreadable today. On a more positive note, the middle weight flavors also possess a relatively seductive mid-palate that also contrasts with the moderately robust and even slightly rustic finish that flashes noticeable warmth and a touch of pit fruit bitterness. As the description suggests, this was pretty awkward though not fatally so.
