Chapelle Chambertin, Domaine Claude Dugat 2020

Tasting Notes

Discreet but not invisible wood blends with the ultra-fresh aromas of various red berries that include ripe cherry and currant cut with hints of spice and violet. The palate impression of the middle weight plus flavors is decidedly cool and restrained while displaying excellent verve and minerality on the austere, serious and built-to-age finale. Patience strongly advised.

Firmer and more muscular than the sensual Charmes, the 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru delivers notes of cherries, peonies, orange rind, rose petals, exotic spices and licorice, followed by a full-bodied, layered and concentrated palate. Deep and tightly wound, it's the least immediate wine in the range, as is typically the case.
