Chambolle Musigny Premier Cru, Philippe Pacalet 2012

Tasting Notes

A strikingly open and airy nose features a beautiful array of spice and dried floral elements that add fine breadth to the red and dark currant aromas. Here too there is impressively good volume to the seductively textured middle weight flavors that display excellent depth, balance and length on the harmonious finish. This beautiful effort is very Chambollesque. Note: equally from Gruenchers, Chabiots and Feusselottes

The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a blend of three parcels. This has a slightly more savory bouquet compared to Philippe’s other 2012 crus: broody at first but suggesting floral notes with aeration. The palate has a very pure entry with touches of blueberry and cassis, leading to a smooth, vibrant finish. Very fine and again, full of vigor.
