Saint Joseph La Dardouille, Darnaud, Emmanuel 2017

Tasting Notes

Inky colored, the 2017 Saint Joseph Lieu Dit La Dardouille comes from a great vineyard in the southern part of the appellation and was 80% destemmed and brought up in demi-muids and barrels. Stunning notes of cassis, rare steak, ground pepper, crushed violets, and ample minerality all emerge from the glass, and this rich, powerful Saint Joseph has a stacked mid-palate, tons of sexy fruit, and a great finish. It's backward and primordial at the moment, so do your best to hide bottles for a good 4-5 years. It should keep for a decade.
