Tasting Notes

The Solessence Rosé is made by blending 85% Solessence with 10% infused Meunier and 5% Pinot Noir Coteaux Champenois. Based on the 2021 vintage, it contains 40% reserve wine and has the same 2g/l dosage as the white. Prodcued in small volumes, there are less than 1,000 cases this year. Pale pink in colour, the nose has the same citrus peel focus as the white, but here there are layers of white strawberry and cranberry fruit too, together with cherry blossom and baked bread. The palate is tangy with acidity, has a delicate but persistent mousse and reveals more delicate notes of biscuit and enriched dough. Crunchy red fruits and fine citrus build in tandem with these notes, together with waves of vibrant acidity. Forward and delicious to drink now, it will be at its best over the coming decade. Excellent value, as with all Seleque's wines.
