The 2023 La Tâche Grand Cru is shockingly rich and opulent. Layers of fruit hit the palate, followed by swaths of imposing tannin that are such a signature of the year. Floral and savory accents appear with some coaxing, but they are largely buried within the wine's plush contours. Readers will find an especially dense, flamboyant La Tâche. Stylistically, La Tâche is very much an outlier in this range. Sugars were slow to finish, and that seems to have left a mark on the wine. I can't wait to see how it ages.
