Tasting Notes

Deep purplish crimson, glowing with rude health. More stony-mineral and less floral than the Post Scriptum, though it retains the lovely fragrance of the Douro, combining rocky/savoury notes with subtle floral scent and pure black fruit. Just a hint of the forest. On the day after opening, that floral side had become more obvious. Extremely finely textured and compact tannins, the freshness is just right for the intensity and elegance of this wine. All still in embryo but refined even in youth. Long, long finish. It’s so well balanced that you could drink it now (with food) but it has great ageing potential. Real tannic finesse. Drink: 2028-2043
