Tasting Notes

The 2024 Pico Ferreira has a pretty, lifted, flor-scented and elegant nose. It was pretty open from when it was poured and kept developing further layers, getting more nuanced with time in the glass. It was produced with the grapes from a lieu-dit in the village of Corullón, a northwest-facing, shady slope planted with centenary vines on slate soils. It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in 1,000-liter bins with 21 days of maceration and matured in 500- and 600-liter barrels for one year. It's exuberant and open, with a faint Galician character, lifted and very pretty. It has contained ripeness, only 12.84% alcohol, a pH of 3.7 and 5.1 grams of acidity; he harvested early, tasting the grapes and not looking at parameters. This is a step up from the previous vintage. 2,160 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2025. 2026 - 2037
