Once again soft wood and menthol nuances mingle with those of very ripe various dark berries, spice and violet scents. There is fine richness to the sleeker and denser medium weight flavors that possess an appealing underlying tension exude evident minerality before culminating in a complex and solidly lengthy finish where the only nit is hint of warmth. The old vines are apparent as there is very good density in the context of the 2018 vintage though I would point out that the structure is firm, and this is clearly built to age. This offers fine quality though I would underscore that it's a wine that is not elegant, indeed it's rustic as well as one that absolutely needs aging. (Drink starting 2028)
