Tasting Notes

Mid purple with a lighter rim, perhaps thanks to some stem influence. This is one of the experimental plots. A mix of strawberry and raspberry on the nose, a little bit of spice, more generous behind, including some fresh cherries, a nice balance between fruit and acidity, and greater persistence. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2024.

Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (98), January 2025

On a steep, south-east facing slope with stony (hence Cras) soils, this is made from destemmed grapes aged in barrel for 18 months. Bright ruby in the glass with a wild, intense nose of hedgerow fruit. The palate is grippy with the tannins Beaune often lends to Pinot. This structure wraps around quite dark, soft and ripe fruit. Full and ripe to a long, heady finish.
