Tasting Notes

The 2024 Doisy-Daëne is a little more backward on the nose than expected, with finely delineated peach skin, beeswax and wild honey scents emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a very peachy opening, then apricot and quince join the chorus line. As usual, the acidic thread keeps this Barsac on its toes and there is real intensity and sustain on the finish that leaves you wanting more. Bravo. 2028 - 2055

Bright gold in colour. Full of fruit and botrytis, this wine is sweet with pineapple and honey, spicy with vanilla and white pepper, and succulent with notes of marmalade. It is not full bodied but there is a real hit of sweet fruit - tinned pineapple and sweet, honeyed peaches - on the palate. Rather than a fat, unctuous wine it is bright and lipsmacking in acidity. This is a very moreish Doisy Daene.

Thomas Parker MW, Farr Vintners, April 2025

The 2024 Doisy Daene has a pale lemon-straw color. It sails out with notes of lemonade, fresh juicy pears, and mango pudding, plus hints of lime cordial and musk perfume. The deliciously sweet palate delivers compelling tension with spicy accents and great length.

Grilled apricots and lime zest, rich without being heavy, luscious and so good, a clear sign that there are bright spots in the 2024 vintage - and many of them belong to the dry and sweet whites of the region. Great stuff from Fabrice and Jean-Jacques Dubourdieu. 15 hl/ha yield.

The 2024 Doisy-Daëne is redolent of apricot, tangerine oil, baked apple tart, pineapple and spice. Bold and luscious in feel, Doisy-Daëne is quite overt in 2024. It offers ample body to match its abundant curves and sexy, flamboyant profile. Tasted two times. Drink: 2029-2044

A medium-sweet Barsac, showing baked apricots and peaches on the nose. Medium-bodied and textural with a fruit-driven expression. Comforting finish.
