Tasting Notes

A slightly riper nose reflects notes of varied dried fruit scents, especially white and yellow peach, along with notes of citrus confit, acacia and spiced tea. The rich, full-bodied and powerful larger-bodied flavors flash a taut muscularity on the youthfully austere, very dry and hugely long finish that is supported by lemon-tinged acidity. I like the balance and this should amply repay extended keeping. Note: one contiguous parcel measuring about .24 ha is spread evenly between Chassagne and Puligny; Boillot calls it his Bâtard du Milieu

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (99), June 2025

Fullish yellow, beautifully rich, quite oaky. Quite an opulent fruit salad style of nose behind, blows the oak off in no time at all. Pretty weighty, quite muscular, good acidity, the feeling that you are barely seeing what is underneath. Possibly not the same degree of finesse as the Clos de la Mouchère, though. Drink from 2031-2040. Tasted Oct 2024.
