At less than a third of the price of the three soil-specific Syrahs from the Mullineux, this is a relative bargain in the range. Combining grapes from granite, iron, quartz and schist, it’s a textbook Swartland expression of the variety, with fennel and violet aromas, a textured palate of blackberry, black olive and liquorice and very subtle oak.
