The 2021 Bussia from Einaudi has intense balsamic aromas of camphor that mingle with mature red berry, underbrush and dark spice. Full-bodied and powerfully built, the palate delivers ripe Morello cherry, spiced raspberry, licorice and tobacco set against a firm, tannic backbone and fresh acidity. Give this time to fully come together. Drink 2031–2041.
The mid-weight Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2021 Barolo Bussia is a little shy on first nose and will need more time in bottle. This is a good sign for the wine's future aging potential. You get a glimpse of the aromatic complexity on hand with delicate berry fruit tones, cinnamon and licorice root. There is an elegant earthy intensity that I often associate with the Bussia cru. Only 8,146 bottles were created. 2027-2045.
