Tasting Notes

Notes of pear, mint, flowers, citrus and boxwood preface the 2024 Aile d'Argent, a moderately weighted, rich and satiny wine that's ample, framed by bright acids with a gently green finish, a consequence of the vintage's climatology. This is a blend of 54.5% Sauvignon Blanc and the rest Sémillon with a pH of 3.05.

A little more strict than other Left Bank whites, the 2024 Aile d'Argent has a bright nose with lime flower, Conference pear and light peach skin scents. The palate is well balanced with a citrus-infused entry, a keen line of acidity and a dab of ginger on the finish. Drink: 2025-2035

Pale silverish lemon colour. Honeysuckle, musky grapes, some wax and lemon peel on the nose. The palate is full of energy, but also has a waxy, supple texture. Very fine grained yet bold at the same time. Zesty but serious, with a long, citrus-fruit led finish accented with salty spice.

Thomas Parker MW, Farr Vintners, April 2025

Skips out with vibrant notes of lime blossom, green apples, and fresh grapefruit with hints of pineapple and fresh pears. The light to medium-bodied palate delivers great intensity and tension with a silky texture and long tangy finish. Yum!

54.5% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon, 12.5% Sauvignon Gris. Aging 9 months in French oak barrels, 45% new. 6.5% Malolactic.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, The Wine Independent, May 2025

The 2024 Aile d'Argent is very fine. Silky, aromatic and brisk, the 2024 is impeccably done. White pepper, chalk, slate, mint, lemon peel and marzipan are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. Attractive tropical overtones from the Sauvignon Gris add lift. There's a bit more lees-stirring than in most years, and also a bit of malolactic fermentation, both of which work so well within the wine's framework. Drink: 2026-2030

Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, April 2025

Complex and bright, showing sea urchins, lemon zest, spices and subtle cream. Medium-bodied with a sense of chalkiness to the middle. Lightly saline and quite long. There is no baby fat here. 54.5% sauvignon blanc, 33% semillon and 12.5% sauvignon gris. Aged in 45% new wood barrels.
