A beautifully floral, rounded and generous De l’Orée. There's a great surge of fruit on the powerful finish. The alcohol is just a little warm, but otherwise this is well balanced, the oak is present but doesn't dominate. It has lovely salty extract and great length. A very good vintage. It was a difficult site to work due to its higher proportion of clay; the humidity caused sustained downy mildew, leading to a low yield of just 20 hl/ha. (Drink between 2026-2042)
