Pretty and beautifully layered aromas include those of dark currant, violet and plenty of newly turned earth nuances. The rich, caressing and delicious middle weight flavors also possess a relatively sophisticated mouthfeel thanks mainly to the fine-grained tannins shaping the youthfully austere, firm, compact and sneaky long finish that is also very well-balanced. Note: from a 1.37 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines situated close to the Château
80% whole bunch vinification with 15 new barrels out of 22 and a Clayver. A deepish central core with lighter rim. Like the Grands Echezeaux, the nose begins in backward fashion, and does not show the whole bunch so much. There is a wonderful mouthful of dark fruit though, black cherry, dark raspberry, a little bit of pepper, this is fuller bodied without losing sensuality. Drink from 2033-2043. Tasted Nov 2024.
