The Lafons are now picking their Desirée earlier. Fresh apples on the nose. Then more weight on the palate, more of the flesh that I expect from this site. Good length, plenty of juice here. Avoids being too soft.
The lovely Meursault Desirée is a premier cru masquerading as a village-level wine; it shows rich aromas of melon and ripe apple with a hint of butter and a suggestion of acacia flowers. The texture is dense and rich, yet enough crisp acidity brings it into balance. The young vines here have not delivered the same concentration as the Clos de la Barre, yet it is perfect for current drinking or mid-term ageing. (Drink between 2025-2035)
