Clair's trilogy of high-altitude communal bottlings concludes with the 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix, an ample and fleshy wine that offers up aromas of sweet raspberries, raw cocoa and spices. Medium to full-bodied, racy and saline, it concludes with chalky grip that will soften with bottle age.
A light bright ruby purple. The bouquet is quite perfumed but perhaps less evident than En la Rue de Vergy. Now the perfume emerges further. Low pH here which then shows in the liveliness of the palate. Even a little austere to finish. Little red berries. I suspect there is a lot more to come from this wine.
