From the upper part of the cru where the 18-year-old vines root in volcanic sandstone (pyrolith) soils, the 2018 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese (Long Gold Capsule) was picked at 135° Oechsle and with 50% perfect botrytis. This is a lush, precise and salty-piquant Würzgarten with a seamless texture and a very long, balanced finish. This is a beautiful wine that is highly stimulating and fine. Absolutely gorgeous.
