Gewurz can be an impressive but tiring wine. With its floral delicacy and lively, graceful personality, this is the opposite of the bombastic norm. The touch of sweetness stays in the background and the floral freshness wins out at the long, precise finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
Indice 4 - a sweet wine; these wines may correspond to Vendange Tardive wines from many other producers. Bright gold colour with a wonderfully complex nose - there is a sweetness with tropical fruit but also a fresh, herbal character to add real depth and refinement. Green mango and nettle tea come together with heather honey. The palate shows real grace and effortless power. Unforced but full-bodied, luscious fruit bursts through with matching medium sweetness. This complex and fleshy wine remains very fine throughout, the structure holding everything in place. It would be easy for this wine to be blousy and overblown, but the restraint and precision shown is striking. Very long on the finish.
