The barest whisper of wood can be found on the slightly cooler array of mostly red berry fruit, plum and exotic tea-scented aromas. Once again, the middleweight flavors are remarkably supple but with more evident tension, minerality and structure on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finale where a trace of warmth gradually emerges. This is more compact than the Grands Epenots and though it's not really austere, this should also repay a decade plus of keeping. 2031+
