Quinta do Vale Meao Vintage Port, Quinta do Vale Meão 2007

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby. Crushed dark berries, violet and licorice on the nose, with some high-pitched herbal and menthol notes. Juicy more than dense-almost more wine- than port-like-with noteworthy purity and lift to the intense flavors of kirsch, spices and herbs. Not a big boy but a fine-grained and rather elegantly styled port with plenty of spine.

The 2007 Quinta do Vale Meao Vintage Port is deeply colored with a nuanced perfume of violets, coffee bean, licorice, and blackberry. It is a bit less impressive on the palate with a lack of volume, straightforward flavors, and a slightly compact finish. It has ample savory fruit, adequate structure, and will offer early drinkability.
