Tasting Notes

The 2022 Cabernet Franc Gran Enemigo El Cepillo includes 15% Malbec from Pampa El Cepillo in the southern Uco Valley. It fermented with 30% whole bunches and was harvested in stages and aged for 15 months in concrete. This feels otherworldly, with black fruit, ash, grapefruit zest, violet and blackberry notes combining with soft herbs and a touch of lactic oak. The 2022 is juicy, chalky and firmly structured, with fine-grained but lively tannins. It is weightless yet full of energy and precision. This is defined down to the last detail. Drink 2025-2045.

Joaquín Hidalgo, vinous.com, August 2025

Attractive aromas of blackberries, violets, crushed stones and graphite. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with round yet focused dark fruit and lifted acidity. Very polished and chiseled. Angular yet approachable, highlighting the unique personality of cabernet franc in this region. Drink now or hold.
