The oak is quite raw on the nose of this Clos des Chenes - it will need to knit into the fruit to allow this to come together. Cloves, nutmeg and incense overlay delicate red fruit. The palate is much the same, the fruit edgy and floral but the wood very sappy and spicy. A wine I would like to taste again with a year or two in bottle.
