Very heavy reductive notes presently hide the nose but the flavors are fresh, intense and beautifully textured as the sap buffers the firm and ripe tannins. Like the Charmes, this is a big wine by the usual standards of Clos St. Denis with ample power and volume with a palate staining finish and length to burn.
Dense full bright youthful colour and similar in nose to the Clos de la Roche, but even more floral and fresh peachy, less framboise. There are firmer tannins behind, and the wine is not quite so persistent. Perhaps more youthful though, with still one or two components to resolve.
