The fruit for this 2019 Shiraz is from Frankland River, in the Great Southern. It is inky, ferrous and spicy, with layers of clove, nutmeg, aniseed and licorice. The fruit is defined by mulberry, blood plum and even blackberries and is decidedly more brooding than any of the 2020s, which show a red-fruited vitality and buoyancy.
