Decidedly cool and restrained aromas are comprised by notes of just sliced citrus and green apple along with hints of white flowers and wet stone. The gorgeously textured middleweight flavors are borderline painfully intense before culminating in a sleek, chiseled and dry finale that is noticeably less austere. This relatively powerful effort is very much built-to-age and a wine that will need at least 5 to 6 years of keeping first. Excellent. Drink starting 2031.
Chiseled and youthfully reductive, the 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard unwinds in the glass with notes of pear, citrus zest, dried white flowers, hazelnuts and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's deep and electric, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, scintillating finish.
