With fruit sourced from a tiny 0.68-hectare parcel in Verduno, the Oddero 2021 Barolo Monvigliero is perfumed and graceful with lilac, iris root, cherry blossom and something sweet that reminds me of freshly squeezed blood oranges. That citrusy note develops as the wine opens in the glass. This is a beauty and shows Oddero's deft hand at making wines across many of Barolo's best sites. It matures in botte grande for 24 months, rendering hints of spice and earth. Production is 1,700 bottles. 2026-2042.
