The intensely golden-yellow 2023 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (Gold Capsule) opens with a brilliant clear and concentrated nose of ripe and stewed yellow fruits intermingled with flinty nuances but also honey, white nougat, dried apricots, peaches and much more. Highly refined and elegant on the palate, this is a stimulating, saline and savory Trockenbeerenauslese whose sweetness is nothing but sensuality; it's erotic and the perfect expression of Riesling or even Würzgarten Riesling. It is quite rare that terroir is even represented in a high-octane wine like this. This is a beauty. And it should be eternal, balanced and refined as it is. 40 liters made. 6% stated alcohol. AP: 25 24. The 2023er Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese GK was made with fully botrytized fruit harvested at 200° Oechsle and was fermented down to fully noble-sweet levels of residual sugar (303 g/l). It offers a very rich and captivating nose of smoke, candied apricot, mango, passion fruit, orange zest, candied lime, lime, green apple, and raisin. The wine proves very intense and packed with a most animating and very straightforward acidity, which gives it a very tight and vibrating feel. The acidity feel reminds one of Eiswein-styled wines from cooler vintage and will please lovers of rich and racy TBA wines. 2028-2043+.
