The 2020 Chablis Les Clos Clos des Hospice Grand Cru has a crisp, effervescent bouquet like Pinson's Les Clos: Satsuma, light melon scents, crushed stone and hints of Mirabelle. The oak is neatly enmeshed. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, citrus-driven opening. It is pretty linear in style and has good weight, though there is no peacock's tail on the finish. This Les Clos is being kept on a tight leash for now, but I find it stylish and sapid. One for more patient Chablis lovers. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2028-2050)
A pale green tint in the colour. Really elegant and stylish, understated but clearly with latent intensity. Super stylish, remains fine-boned, with a really attractive aftertaste mixing fresh white fruit with a touch of iodine. Beautiful harmony to this wine.
