The 2024 No Place Like Home comes from a Syrah parcel planted in 2006 that usually takes two and a half weeks or even longer to pick. Around 62% was aged in Lambson's newly installed 5,000-litre concrete vats, with around half the bunches whole cluster. This has a very pure and intense bouquet, with intense black fruit interlaced with pressed violet and peony. Stunning delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, with finely chiselled tannins, a silver bead of acidity, precise and mineral-led on the long finish. Outstanding. 2027 - 2042
There is a meatiness to the fruit on the nose here, offering game in tandem with violet, blueberry and dark cherry. The palate is silky, bright and racy in acidity with pithy, lightly chalky tannins. That light crunch adds savour and spice, with an almost garrigue-like note overlaying more of that gamey fruit. Increasingly floral and elegant on the finish, this is complete and high-toned. Moreish now, and capable of ageing for over a decade.
