Vosne Reignots, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 2014

There is good freshness to the high-toned, pure, cool and airy nose of subtly spiced red cherry, pomegranate, violet and lavender aromas. There is terrific vibrancy to the intensely mineral-driven and beautifully delineated, even chiseled medium weight flavors that are markedly saline on the lilting yet hugely long finish. This will need a few years to flesh out but it should be more than worth the wait. As all the great examples of Reignots are, this is a wine of finesse and delicacy that delivers outstanding flavor authority. If you can find it, buy it.
