Meursault Narvaux, Louis Jadot 2023

Tasting Notes

Glycerol legs, some oak, but plenty of fruit energy. Then the wine on the palate kicks on to a whole extra degree of energy, an expansive Narvaux that never quite loses trace of its hillside nervosity. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted Oct 2024. ****

Narvaux sits just above Genevrieres on the hill of Meursault and is a site that frequently delivers above its status as a result. Here you get a whiff of smoky, reductive barrel on the nose, together with oily lemons and juicy orchard fruit. The palate is silky with impressive concentration and density. The acidity remains vibrant throughout and gives the wine deft lift, finishing on more layers of vanilla and clove from the wood. It should come together well within 3-5 years.
