This wine used to be called the "Acte" series. The grapes are grown in Fronsac at the family home of the Guinaudeau family (owners of Lafleur). Made in a 3 hectare vineyard from 51% Bouchet (a synonym for Cabernet Franc) and 49% Merlot

A blend of 80% Cabernet Franc (or "Bouchets," in the language of the Guinaudeau family) and 20% Merlot, the 2024 Les Perrières de Lafleur is a refined and pure wine that stands out despite the challenges of the vintage. It opens with a bouquet redolent of violet, cassis, fresh licorice and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and layered, the palate is chiseled and precise, supported by powdery tannins and lively acids and concluding with an ethereal, lingering finish.
A fresh and slightly chalky wine with dried cherry, berry and lemon flavors. Medium body. Fine, integrated tannins. Pretty cantaloupe and orange flavors at the end.
Deep garnet-purple colored. Races out of the glass with energetic scents of red currant jelly, Bing cherries, and red roses, leading to hints of pencil shavings and charcoal. The medium-bodied palate delivers a rock-solid backbone of super-fine-grained tannins and bold freshness supporting the red berry and floral layers, finishing very long and minerally. Gorgeous!
80% Bouchet (Cabernet Franc), 20% Merlot - more Cabernet Franc this year because some of this Merlot went into Grand Villages and some had shatter.
Deep ruby colour, high floral aromatics, sinewy texture, salinity and grace. A touch of austerity, clear floral character here, iris, peony, chamomile tea, redcurrant, gunsmoke, a curl of grilled sage, this unfurls through the palate with grip on the finish, tension, chalk texture. Harvest 25 September to 3 October. Lafleur team working under Julie and Baptiste Guinaudeau.
